at Blenheim Palace
Blenheim Art Foundation is delighted to present Michelangelo Pistoletto at Blenheim Palace, a solo exhibition celebrating the extensive oeuvre of Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto, on display until 31 December 2016. The exhibition explores the diverse range of Pistoletto’s fifty-year practice, from painting and sculpture to large-scale installation, as well as showcase new works made specially for Blenheim, which is integrated into the very fabric of the palace’s eighteenth-century interiors and surrounding grounds; a fantastical meeting of English Baroque and Italian Arte Povera. Pistoletto’s project at Blenheim Palace is the iconic artist’s most comprehensive UK show to date.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, Blenheim Palace attracts close to a million visitors a year from all over the world. The Palace was a gift from Queen Anne to the 1st Duke of Marlborough, following his decisive victory over the French at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704.
